does teething mean more sleep?
« on: April 03, 2016, 18:45:10 pm »
My DS 10.5 months old has struggled with short naps but suddenly this last week has had a cold and teething (first teeth) 3 coming out this week, 2 at bottom and one top front and suddenly seems to be sleeping more.  Is this common?

He is also very cranky after about 1hr 30 attention time so has been napping sooner and for longer than usual!

E.g. today woke at 7am, nap 1 9:45-11:35 (I woke), then asleep 3-4:15 (I woke again), asleep for night 7:10! normally has one 30min nap and one 1hr 30 (max nap) but this last week hasn't given me one 30minute nap (very unusual).

Just wondering if this is normal or could it be that he is up in the middle of the night a lot but as doesn't cry I don't know about it?! Should I be bothered if he isn't crying?!

Just seems unusual to me and weirdly my DD (nearly 3) has also suddenly started sleeping a bit longer at night in the same timeframe?!

Both of my LOs slept longer when they were teething. My theory is that the discomfort keeps them from getting a really restful sleep so they have a longer, but fitful sleep.

If he's not crying at night, I would just leave him be and not worry about it.
