Just curious. We ate having lots of bt antics no matter what time I out her down she cries and cries the second I leave the room. We are doing
WU 7
Nap 12-2
BT 7

I'm. Actually thinking I might ty earlier nap and have a long a to BT. We have only just moved to 1 nap a few weeks ago from here
WU 7 I woke
Nap 9:30 -10 I woke
Nap 1-3 I woke
BT 6:40

Bit older (22m) but typically WU 6-6.30, nap 12ish-2/2.30, BT 7pm.

I'm wondering if your LO actually needs an earlier BT? You've gone from a less than 12h day on two naps with 2.5h day sleep to a 12h day and 2h day sleep....

Yeah we did kind of make a big jump. She was messing around at bt but she's still doing the now so maybe been more developmental or something. She has a few nw's before 12 and 1 around 5 so sounds ot you think?

What would you try?

I'd pull back to 6.30 and see where you go from there. Are you capping her nap or is she waking naturally? I'd let her go longer if she will - you may be able to manage the 7pm bedtime if so

. Just thinking she's always been HSN I think? So I'd go more sleep not less for her in the first instance x

She is hsn. I wake her in the morning and for her nap. I've seen her pull 13 / 14 hour nights and a nap at times. I guess I didn't really know whete to go when we went to 1 nap. She probably would still take 2 naps but I dropped to 1 when she wasn't tired at bt.

Let her sleep till 7:30 this morning (I woke her) then put her down for her nap at 11:45 . Would you still let her nap as long as she will then 6:30 bt?

So I'm nervous about letting her sleep so long. I've woke her at 2:20 so 2hrs 35 mins. Would you have let her sleep and when would you do 7pm bt tonight?

They do grow up quick don't they?

My feeling would be at this age, pick a set bedtime so if 7pm works, go with it. Cap night or nap if you have to but not both to start with otherwise she has no opportunity to regulate herself. I would have let her sleep probably just to see if she would go down at 7pm ok. And then gradually worked on capping the nap and finding the right length to have her go down consistently at that time of day.

She's doing so much better pulling the a times back
Do you think I should go with a set nap time uncapped then 4.5 hrs a time after nap x

I would personally go for set nap and set bedtime. That way she can vary her nap length if she needs more or less sleep, and doesn't lose out on the extra sleep again by having bedtime moved. It's worked really well for both of mine that way and when you start getting bedtime resistance you can slowly cap the nap to keep to the set bedtime. When she was in the early months on one nap DD used to make up for bad sleep at nursery with huge naps of 3h at home, and would still go to bed at the same time as usual ie after a very short A. I think really with toddlers it is more about setting times so their body clocks know what is going on, and leaving the adjusting up to them x

Unfortunately when she's back at the cm's 3 days a week (until end july). She only gets yo nap 1:20 - 2:45 due to nursery and school runs.

just chiming in with our current routine, which is still work in progress - not sure it's any help, but had to post anyway when I saw your new (to me anyway) gorgeous avatar, what a lovely photo

oh yes, so ours is:

Up 6:45
Nap 12:45-3 (have to wake then for school run, cm wakes a little earlier)
BT 6:45 (I'd personally let that vary a little if your naps are restricted 3x per week)

But our DD seems to prefer a longer first A and shorter second A, so I'm not suggesting you copy us, it's just for comparison/interest

Hi Trimbler nice to hear from you again, yes it is a new avatar, thank you. Ella could never stay awake that long in the morning. DD1 was on a similar routine and that age but DD2 likes her sleep.

Katherine, I have been sticking with
WU 7:30
Nap 12 - whenever usually 14/14:30
BT 18:30(unless she has a rotten nap then I put her down earlier)

And she has been sleeping through apart from the off early NW and I'm still having to wake her after 13hrs in the morning. My girl does like her sleep, I guess I moved her too much because I was thinking its not a lot of awake time in 24 hours but she does seem to still need around 15hrs sleep in 24 hours.

Sorry could I get a wee bit of help with today. We were out visiting so wu she didn't get het usual nap. She nodded on the way home from 13:08 - 13:36 (28 mins). She was shattered to i put her down when we got home at 14:05 but now I'm Not sure how long to let her sleep or when to do bt. What would you do please x

Oh sorry I didn't get to this sooner, I would have possibly gone with her normal bedtime of 6.30 or let her nap a bit longer but fingers crossed any wobbles from today will get ironed out tomorrow x

WU 7 (instead of 7:30)
Nap max 1:20 - 14:45 (instead of 12- 2/2:30)
BT usually 6:30

I'd probably stick to the same bedtime unless she seems like she's struggling and let her make up the difference witha longer nap or a lie-in at home x

Well it should be but she is wide awake there is no chance of her going to sleep. She keeps saying no and pointing at the door won't even take her milk.

Possibly nap too late in the day. It happens, I'd probably have a cutoff time that you wake her by even if she's fallen asleep late so you can stick to normal bedtime x

They get home from the nursery around 13:20 and she puts her put her straight down. So its just when she will fall asleep. The thing is she then wakes earlier in the morning. Sleep definitely begets sleep with this wee one x
