White noise query
« on: April 12, 2016, 00:07:17 am »
Hello everyone,

We use a white noise app on an old phone instead of Ewan the Dream Sheep etc, tonight my hubby asked if we should "turn the noise off when he goes to sleep and turn it back on when putting him down after night feeds?". It's not something I'd actually thought about before as I've always turned it on as part of our bedtime routine, left it running all night and switch it off when he's awake.

Any thoughts?

Weve done the same with our two...let it run all night. On the weird chance the power goes out or flickers and the machines we ue turn off, we have to run in and turn them on or they wake up. DD is 5 and shes had hers every night since day one...same with DS. Me and DH use an app on his phone. I just cant sleep in a perfectly silent room, and I think it helps block out any weird noise they might hear while you and dh are up. Annnnnnddd.....from a totally lazy perspective, it sounds like more work than its worth, turning it on and off. Is there any reason why DH wants to turn them off?

This is what I did with DD. We weaned it when she was two and it was pretty easy to do. It's fine to leave it on all night.

I leave it on all night, too. Otherwise it would likely disrupt sleep patterns.

Not really, it's not as though it's draining his phone battery. I think he's just being picky :)

haha..well there are plenty of great sound machines that you can plug in. Mine is a machine and it projects an image that spins on the ceiling like a mobile. I just use the light though since its a perfect night light as well.
