PUPD for cot party?
« on: May 18, 2016, 00:03:00 am »
Hi.
I just need some advice on whether or not pupd can be used when bub wakes up too early from either a nap or night sleep, but is happy?
She often wakes up after a 45 min nap having a cot party, and the same at 6am 😖
Pupd is described in all the info as being used on an upset baby, but what do you do with a happy baby that needs to go back to sleep?

Hi, usually if baby wakes at 45min and is happy, routine is the where the money is.

Under or Over Tired?

Ok - yes if UT then no amount of ST will help her sleep!

Hi again,
Yes I am currently trying to increase my lo's awake time gradually to sort out the problem of early waking from naps and early morning waking. Yesterday we managed 2.5 hrs awake time during the day and she napped ok, but then refused the CN and ended up awake from 2:30-7 and over tired, hence another 5am and 6am wake up this morning.
But was still wondering if PU/PD worked with an awake baby who isn't upset?
