Early waking baby sharing a bedroom with older brother
« on: May 26, 2016, 19:49:46 pm »
I was lucky enough to discover BW when I had my first son who is now 4 years old. Also lucky to have a baby who followed the EASY schedule like a dream.  Baby number 2 has come along and I don't think he has read the BW book!! He is 10 months old.  At the moment we are having trouble with EW, usually between 5 - 5:30am.  The problem is that I have to rush in to get him up and out of bed because he shares a bedroom with his brother.  He is usually showing signs of tiredness soon after waking.  He goes to bed around 7 but can vary 30 mins each way. He has always been an extremely noisy sleeper so don't know if he sleeps deeply or whether this is normal. Is he having too long nap time as can sometimes do 3.5  - 4 hours ?
Help/ advice appreciated.

Is he on one nap or two? What time is naptime? I would say he is probably UT if daytime sleep is up to 4 hours, so perhaps capping the daytime sleep would encourage the night to lengthen.

I think the ew might be a sign he needs to have a bit less daytime sleep. How have the last few days been?  I wonder if this is the start of the 2-1 for him.

From 2 to 1 nap transition (10-12m and older)

Have reduced nap times and waking around 6  to 6:30 so much better.    Not sure if he could cope (or me) on just one nap yet!!
