Thank you. We really have to get self-settling happening then. I'm formulating a plan for gradual withdrawal now!

Actually, I'm a bit confused about how to do gradual withdrawal. Our initial plan is to put her in the cot drowsy and if she gets upset, cuddle her in the cot to try to get her to settle, as we've had some success settling her this way when she wakes at night. Then gradually we will put her down less and less drowsy and do less cuddling in the cot to get her to settle.

What I'm unsure about is what we do if she doesn't stop crying when we cuddle her in the cot. Do we pick her up at that point? If so, does it effectively become PU/PD?

Thank you
