Fading my hand on baby's back for sleep
« on: June 28, 2016, 03:08:02 am »
Hi all!

These boards have been SO helpful in starting my little girl on the EASY
Routine and on pu/PD.  My question is in fading away the hand on back.
In the BW book, it says when starting pu/PD you leave you hand on the baby's back
Until they are in a deep sleep. However, I can't find information that instructs how/when
To start fading the presence of my hand on baby's back. Help please!

I would suggest that once LO is comfortably going to sleep that way, you just start taking your hand away sooner - so for example if you are currently sitting there for 10 mins, try 5, or if currently into deep sleep, try just after eyes closed, then just until calm and eyes about to close, then just until calm, then not at all.  Basically my mantra has always been 'do the minimum' - you don't want to get yourself another prop!  Just try it and see :)
