Where/how do I start?
« on: June 30, 2016, 19:27:20 pm »
Hey,

My son is 14 wo and only fall asleep on my arms (always walking).
At night after fall sleep he sleep on crib for about 5 hours (1 breastfeeding) and more ~3 hours

But now Iīd like to teach him to fall sleep by himself. I started to read some technique and I completely lost... So many variations and technique .
The only thing that I know is : i dont want to let him cry.

Where do I start? Should I be worried about that condition (only sleep on my arms when Im walking)

Thanks

Here's a good link to get you started - Starting EASY - all you need to know and more!

Have a browse through and see what you think, and then post here if you have any specific questions - happy to answer them :)  Have you read the Baby Whisperer books?  We don't support leaving a baby to cry alone so nobody here will suggest that :D

Let us know what you think when you've had a chance to look at the link x

Hello...
First of all, thanks for your time and help

I spent my weekend reading material you pointed me. So much information...

So, I think have two major problem :
1 - I dontīt have a schedule at all (he was on free demand)
2 - My baby only fall sleep in my arms

I decided to work first on problem 1 (Is that a good aproach ?)
So, I started E.A.S.Y on this Saturday. I followed the 3-hour E.A.S.Y. (under 4 months old) http://babywhispererforums.com/index.php?topic=63534.0

Some observations :

 - Tried dream feed but he did not eat at all.
 - He woke up 2x on saturday and 3x on sunday at night to feed (?)
 - Every "S" I have to walk with him for about 10~20 minutes (because of problem 2)
 - In each nap i stay with him in my arms. When i try to put him on crib after he sleep he wakes up in about 5 min (not always but I'm afraid of him waking up and keep him in my arms)
 - Because of that I have no "Y" ... So is basically an "E.A.S." method

So what you think about that? Should I keep with that approach? Any tips ?

How about nap enviroment, should I keep the room dark or not?

Thanks

The dream feed can take a bit of time to get right, I'm not the best person to ask really as I didn't do it with my two (just let them feed when they woke) but you can post on the breast or bottle feeding boards for re help if you need it :)

2-3 feeds overnights is just fine for this age so don't worry about that aspect for now.  Establishing a pattern of EAS is a great start, but to really get the 'Y' time encouraging independent sleep using shh pat and good consistent wind down is a must.  Did you get chance to look at the info on 'teaching sleep'?  This is a great age to begin and we'll be here to encourage you along the way x
