Clogged Duct
« on: July 07, 2016, 11:30:34 am »
My almost 5 month old is sleeping longer at night, which is great.  In order to not be super engorged when I feed her (she has mild reflux), I've been hand expressing milk around 2/3/4 am. However, now I seem to have a couple of clogged ducts.  I've been using a heater my pad, massage, essential oils, pumping after at least two feeds a day, always starting with that breast when nursing.... But it's not getting better.  Not worse either, just not better.  It's slightly painful to the touch but not bad.  Any suggestions on what else to do?  I don't want to pump in the middle of the night when I'm engorged A) because them I'm fully awake and B) then I won't have enough milk to nurse her if she wakes right away (she's a very impatient eater and almost demands a fast flow). Maybe there's something I'm missing that I could be doing?  Thanks in advance!
