Honestly mine baffles me some days I just think I've cracked it and boom he's changed his mind lol. We're getting nearer 3 hours last couple of days but often means naps are a bit touch and go. Hope this nap goes well x

I'm not exactly sure how many weeks he is--turned 6 months this past week--as I mentioned above, fourth child!
Buuuttt...for two days in a row I got a long nap!
A time 2.45.
Yesterday he got down at that time and slept an hour and 15 min! I saw him transition at 30 min and go back to sleep!
Then had a crap second nap but today this morning slept 1.25 and 1 hr. Much better than he'd been doing til now! The weird thing is for the second nap it was at like 2.50 and it took him ages to get down, just like yesterday! He seemed super OT at 2.45. Have to figure this out, he may need an earlier bedtime if his A times are that much shorter...but then what do I do with my other 3 boys? #largefamilyquandaries

It is tricky I have an older DS so he gets to have a bit later BT. Sounds like the change in A was working. I had to push ours to 2.50 this morning and got 1.5 hour nap no intervention which was nice x

The question is, this morning he woke at 615 and wouldn't fall back asleep due to outside intervention...so his first nap would have to be at 9 instead of 10? I'm concerned because what if he sleeps for too short...should I be keeping set nap times or just going with A times?

I'd personally go with A times at this age, if you push to 10am you'll prob get a short nap from ot.!?!

We had a day of 1 long nap then 2 short naps and he was ok.

Interestingly enough he seemed tired at 9 but then wouldn't settle and cried and cried and I tried getting him relaxed and rinally rubbed his back a bit in the crib and he fell asleep at 950 and slept til 1135 when I woke him!
Just to confuse me a little more, why not 😉j

This here is a clue that he's probably ready for another A increase. When a previously long nap shrinks...

No his previous naps were 30 min long! 1.15 was actually fabulous, considering.
But I would still like his naps to be longer. I got into a habit of rubbing his back to sleep for his naps but I'm in the process of moving and he's still transitioning between sleep cycles so I'm not going to try to train him out of it until we're settled at my parents house where we'll be for the next few months 😬
