Not average wake time for 2 week old
« on: July 27, 2016, 19:58:45 pm »
My 2 week old lo has been sleeping most of the day (and night) up until most recently.  Today he was up at 5:30 wide awake for the day. I couldn't get him down for a nap it's almost 1130 ?!  And he slept from 12 to 3. Just wondering want to put him down next or should I just let him fall sleep wherever he is as most newborns do? I thought the typical awake time for a newborn was one hour ?!

Could he just be OS by older sibling or visitors? I just let DS2 sleep anywhere in those first few weeks x

Yes I think you are right older sibling ;) I was just letting him sleep anywhere too until he hit the 6 hour mark of being awake yikes! I think the os was just too much. So just recently I brought him to his bassinet where he sleeps at night in my room and he passed right out. Last night he also didn't sleep well up every 2 hrs when he was sleeping 3 hrs after drinking a good 3 oz and then was up ready to go at 530 when normally he goes right back to sleep until I get him up around 730/8. This is tougher than I thought with lo number 2 !!

It is tough but it does get easier and oh my it flies by, DS2 is 6 months this week...when did that happen!!

I'd just try and keep him out of the way a little near nap time or in a different room. I found going to the park the easiest way as baby could sleep snd 4 yr old could be loud and run x
