That's really helpful, thanks. Before I went to the 15 min cn he was doing more like 30 min at 10am and then 1hr 20 at 1.30 which took us to 2.50pm in time to leave for the school run. Might be something I consider going back to then as not sure how happy nursery would be waking him after 15 mins  anyway. I'll stick with some kind of short am long pm anyway until he is old enough to handle longer A til 1pm or til he completly refused pm nap at 1/1.30 as if he doesn't take it at that time it's school run and too late!
Thanks again x

Yes good plan.  Only I would add that it may be possible to start the afternoon nap later, say 2.45 for 1hr, this might give you a bit more leeway when you are working out the tweaks in routine as you go along.

Just realised  you said 2.45 above, but we have school run at 3pm. Oh well, will work around it.
He woke at 6am today, seems to be getting earlier. Last time we had a 7am wu was when he was having a 9.45 to 10.15 morning nap, so might go back to that and see what happens. I really don't want a 5 on the clock for tomorrows wake up.

Oh sorry, I made an error in my typing. What I meant was you can start the nap later at 1.45 for a 1hr nap so getting up at 2.45 to do the school run. Sorry about that. I meant 1pm wouldn't need to be the cut off for an afternoon nap, but rather 1.45.  I know you also put 1.30pm as the possible start time and 1.45 is not much later than that but sometimes just 15 mins can help if LO is refusing a nap and they will go down 15 mins later and could get 1hr out of it.

Ah great, makes sense. Well things are getting worse here, I originally posted about earlier mornings and they are getting ridiculous now. 5.15am wu this morning. He went back to sleep about 6am I think.
Is it the morning nap causing it? Because I lengthened it from 15 mins to 30 mins yesterday? Or OT at Bt? Yesterday :
Wu 6
S 9.45 to 10.15
S 1.15 to 2.35
Bt 7

Hmm..I'd guess it was OT at BT but tbh I'm not really experienced in routines with those short naps in the morning as mine had to have a very long morning A time to have a nap.
That afternoon nap was shorter than the other EASYs you posted though.

Hmm..he was getting significantly more sleep a month ago with the longer morning nap and long over night sleep.
Here's a totally different idea - what if the first nap was longer at nursery, maybe 11-12 and then you didn't give a second nap until after the school run?  Don't know what time you are back from school PU but maybe something like nap at 3.15/30 - 4.15/30 (would he nap 3hrs after first nap?) and a 3.5hr A time before BT so 7.30/8pm BT??
Most people are reluctant to move BT later, I know I was, that Y time in the evening is precious but we got used to it really quickly when DS's BT moved to 8pm.  It shifts the overnight sleep to make a slightly later Wu easier (I'd think 6 to 7am rather than 5 to 6) and then helps both naps come later in the day so that you can fit that school run into A time?? Something like two one hr naps and 10-11 hours over night.
It might also give some tweaking space so that the morning nap can move to 11.30-12.30 for a short period and then make the leap to an at home nap at 12.30 which is a hard jump moving 1hr in one go but not impossible especially if he gets to the point of morning nap refusal.
It's just an idea, or another idea, to throw into the mix.

Thanks, I'll mull it over. Problem with after school nap is that we have a few after school activities which involve a lot of tooing and froing from 3. 30 onwards. In the car, out the car, by the pool etc. I did used to so long am short pm like this until 5 year old started all the after school classes!
Why is this do hard . It's back to school, nursery and work tomorrow and I have no idea what I'm doing.

Oh dear, sorry.

Do you want to start another thread to get some fresh eyes on how to fit naps around nursery and school times?

Oh no, I didn't think you were just saying no to everything at all. I'm just sorry I wasn't much help. You have real reasons why certain things won't work and you have a lot of unmovable times to fit around.  I only wondered if someone else might have some more helpful ideas for you and often people won't jump on a 2 page thread but might jump on a new one.
I had some unmovable times when DS was little and I couldn't do a regular EASY but someone helped me think outside the box with ideas of how I could work the day and one of those ideas had me saying "oh wow, yeah, I could do this and this" and tweak that idea to fit for my DS's character and sleep habits.

I really appreciate all the suggestions you have given me! I may start a new thread now, I just need a routine to fit round our unmovable stuff that won't encourage emw. I am happy to do most of things you suggest, 2x1hr naps, 1hr20 nap and cn etc I really don't mind but he is miserable as he is waking so early I think. Or the naps aren't long enough. I don't know. He doesn't seem happy at the moment.
I'll try a new thread, thanks x
