6 week old - one stressful feed a day
« on: October 05, 2016, 17:20:58 pm »
Lo feeds really well all day and night except for one feed. Everyday at 6pm, he barely attaches (but desperately wants to), grunts, screams, pulls on and off and is so distressed. I have milk, I can hear him gulping it down. Before I stopped trying to feed him and he burped heaps, but it made not difference, until eventually he settled feeding (no more gulping) and fell asleep.  Why is this happening? I tried reclining back abit but it made no difference either.

LO's at that age can be really fussy in the evening time. is he fussy in general in the late afternoon/evening? or just when it comes to feeding? do you feed on demand? could he be really hungry and frustrated? cluster feeding is very common at that age, maybe keep him attached a lot during this time or wear him in a sling or so. feeding on demand is recommended to build up a good milk supply and to meet all his needs! let us know how you get on...
