When can lo start handling longer A times
« on: October 18, 2016, 00:45:28 am »
When can my 3 month old lo start handling more A time or a 4 hr easy? We've gone from feeding every 3-3.5 hrs to every 2.5 because his naps are so short and are messing up any kind of easy routine.

There's no need to reduce the time between E due to short naps. This could effect eating.  I would just have him eat at the regular 3hrs.
a 4 hr easy?
Tracy set out the 4 hr EASY for babies 4 months old.

Yes but most of the time the nap is due right before feeding so I end up feeding him at 2.5 hrs instead of every 3 hrs otherwise his A time ends up being over 2 hrs! It just doesn't work out with the short naps

If the nap is only going to be 30 mins then you should make the 3hrly E.  It's fine to either feed early at 2.5hrs as you are doing or (if LO is not properly hungry then) to wait until after the nap. When naps are only 30 mins or so they rarely interrupt E times. Naps of 2hrs can interrupt E times but LOs tend to either eat well before hand or just sleep past the 3hrs and eat when they wake, say at 3hr 15 or 3hr 30.
