8 month old- 3/4am waking
« on: October 10, 2016, 06:32:43 am »
Hi creations, hope your well - back for skn more advice!

LO is now 8 1/2 months old and we have a pretty good routine, however for the past week or so he's been waking up at between 3 and 4am and crying for up to 45 mins before going back to sleep, some nights it's not quite a long as this. We can't work out why he's doing it as it is happening whatever time he goes to bed and also doesn't delend on what nails he has had. Some days he only has 45 mins per Nap rather than an hour and half, and so he goes to bed earlier those days as he cant cope with more than about 3 hrs 30 before bed and I thought that was the cause but then on a day when he had good naps and went to bed at normal time he still did it! Not sure if it's just a phase?

Also do you have any advice for when the clocks go back?

Hi if it's new it could just be a developmental phase. 8-10 months can be a bit of a rough time for sleep and there's often a big regression in there as well as lots of new skills being learnt.
If your routine is still working fine I would wait a few more days and then we can take a look at your EAS to see if anything needs to change.

I've never been organised enough to adjust my LO's routines before clock changes but here is a link which may help How to Adjust to Daylight Savings

Thanks for the advice. I did wonder if it was teeth related, the last couple of nights he has woke up and cried but only for a couple of mins and then gone back to sleep. Here's hoping it's just a phase!
