Waking 2.30/3hrs after bt
« on: December 10, 2016, 21:31:40 pm »
Hi ladies, I have a nearly 7 months old boy who in the last week or so has been waking around 2.30hrs after bt. I can usually settle him back quite quickly, he likes to sleep on his tummy but can't quite roll over yet, so I turn him around and he sleeps fine. We are in the process of cutting the DF as he's getting enough milk during the day plus three meals of solids. He also wakes sometime around 5am and again I put him on his tummy and he sleeps till 7ish. Here's a typical day:

wu:7, bottle 6 or 7oz
S:around 10, 10.15 for an hour or so
E:11.30 6oz then solids at 12/12.30
S:2.15-2.30 till 3.45-4 (sometimes he wakes after 45 mins, I settle him and he sleeps for another 45mins or an hour)
E:4 7oz then solids at 5.30, bottle of 6/7oz before bt
BT:7ish (can be earlier or later depending on afternoon nap, usually 3hrs after he wakes from it)
The DF is now at 10pm and he's getting 3oz

Maybe he needs more AT now that he's approaching 7months? He's quite textbook and got to two naps just before or at 6 months. Thanks for your help

Hi hun :)

Yes- your right about A time! Routine seems great but I would try increasing A times.

I found, with my experience, when my LO woke so soon after BT it was because he wasn't as tired to continue staying asleep. I pushed A times for a few days and it worked.

However, other things to consider- discomfort? New teeth? Tummy troubles? Etc.

Hope that helps some :)

Hi and thanks for your reply! Funnily enough after I wrote that post he didn't wake again so soon after bt apart from yesterday, but I'm pretty sure he was OT this time. I've also eliminated the DF and last night he slept through apart from that evening waking.

Hopefully things will stay put for a while, fingers crossed! thanks again xx
