Which method to use to stop last (habit) wake for feed
« on: January 03, 2017, 00:15:47 am »
Ladies...

Is it best to try PU/PD with 9mo DS who wakes daily about 3.30am for a bottle?  (Bottles have reduced in size to almost nothing).

Mum to DD born April 2014 and DS born April 2016.

Do you think he wakes out of habit or he wakes for the bottle?
For us reducing the oz worked, but in this case I`d try wake to sleep.

Thanks dache!  I did read that in the book ('Solves All Your Problems...') today when flipping thru but I've always been terrified of wake to sleep! Lol!

I'll give it a go.  Will just have to figure out the best time to do this... timing is usually 3.30am but sometimes earlier or later.

I'm pretty sure it's habitual.  Decreased bottle from around 200ml to about 60ml and while a little cranky that the bottle is over so quickly, he does settle back to sleep and stays asleep until 6/6.30am.  Has big bottle's during the day (900ml) and eats a lot of solids.

Just wanted to say thank you - about a week of the wake to sleep (which he was sometimes awake for anyway) plus some reassurance techniques, and then he had dropped that last wake up.

So it ended up being a combo of wake to sleep, a bit of resettling, and also just him getting used to it.

Thanks a lot for your support and advice.
