I'm wondering whether to start waking her at 7 every morning regardless of whether or not she's been awake in the night. Generally at the moment if she has had a NW she will sleep in later in the morning. I have been trying to stick with a set nap time give or take 20 minutes or so but I'm finding that when she's had a NW and therefore a late wake up she isn't ready for her nap until much later. Could it be that our A time before bed is too short? I'm a bit worried about this causing Ot though?
My aim would be for a wake up between 6.30 and 7, nap between 12.30 and 1 and bed around 7 ish

I always wake mine by 7am as like a 7/7.30 bt and it fits with naps for school runs.

I'm starting to find that mine needs to be up by 2.30pm to have a chance of 7pm bt or we gets lots of chatting. I'd say with NW if she's not crying out or needing you don't worry too much just stick to your day as normal.

At the min we do 9.45am 20 min CN then nap 1pm-2.30pm bt 7

If it's a 1 nap day it is nap 12-2 ish bt 6.45/7 I do tend to try and keep it within 15 mins x

No she doesn't need me during the NW. She cries out initially, like she's upset at being woken. Sometimes she will stay asleep but others she wakes then just lies there for an hour + until she drifts back to sleep. shes been doing this since January :-/

That's really good she doesn't need you, sometimes there is no reason for these NW that we can get to the bottom of x

I could do with a bit more help as we are still getting long NW. Last night we had one 2.30-4am but she didn't cry out when she woke up, I just happened to wake and check the monitor, which makes me wonder if she's waking more than I realise. (I have to wear earplugs as husband snores).
Our naps have generally got better which is good but I can't work out what is waking her at night and I am worried about how long she is staying awake for. I am struggling with anxiety over this (worried she's going to do it forever mainly!) and my sleep is suffering which isn't helping.

Awhh sweetie try not to let it get you anxious there are times when LO wake at night and she must be content as she doesn't need you.

One of Tracy's book refers to toddlers being awake for long periods at night and it's normal and to leave them to it unless of course they need you. I guess they are maybe processing the day or their brains are working on the next adventure.

Her day looks good and if she's happy I'd try to just let her be....it won't last forever honestly. My DS1 used to have long NW and be an EW (did a year of 4.30 wakes that I couldn't fix) but he's 5 now and doesn't wake up in the night hardly ever and sleeps from 7.30-6.30/7am.

I often hear DS2 chatting away in the night and he's 15 months so it's pretty normal, the good thing is if they are happy to be in their beds chilling x

That is reassuring thank you.  I really suffer with anxiety and this doesn't help at all when I'm tired. She has an ear infection now too to add to it all

The ear infection won't help poor thing.

I used to be very anxious about DS1 sleep and I know it's easier said than done when people say relax don't worry about it, but I always think that as long as your kids are fed, happy and relatively well rested there isn't much more you can do  :-*

thank you. She has also cut a bottom molar this week along with the ear infection so that hasn't helped but I no it's not the sole reason for her wake up. Another last night i think 2.30-3.45. I woke up and registered that she was awake but forced myself to not stare at the monitor and i managed to go back to sleep until 3.45 when i looked again and she was just drifting off again. I guess I will just have to try and make myself do that. You are right though, she is a very happy baby and doesn't get tired and grouchy so I guess it's ok for her!
