Nearly 20 months EW
« on: May 05, 2017, 10:18:17 am »
I feel like I've battling one sleep issue after another his whole life!
We had finally got a consistent wake up time for the first time in his life of 6.30am. It looked like this
Wu 6.30
S 1 to 2.30
Bt 7

He was finally consistent for a good few weeks. Now we are having some nights where he takes between 15 and 30 minutes to drop off at night where he usually drops off immediately. He is messing and throwing his lovey around and then screaming for it back. He is also waking anywhere from 5am. We don't get him out the cot til 6.30. He has a Gro clock. He wakes happy and again throwing his lovey and shouting for us to give it back. Is it UT? I'm not sure how to get him back to 6.30 Wu. No teeth at the mo.

Many kids I know start to need less day sleep around this age. You could try cutting nap by 15 mins., so end it at 2:15 and keep bedtime the same. But you have to stick with this at least a few days to see if it makes a differemce with both bedtime and early wake ups. Good luck!

So I'm back! He is 20 months now. I cut the nap in the end and we had one week of back to 6.30 wake ups, It looked like this when it was working well:
Wu 6.30
S 1.30 to 2.30
Bt 7

Now we are back to waking at 5/5.30.
Not sure where to go from here. 😢 any advice?

I would try:
NAP 1:00-2:00
BT 7:15

for a couple days then:

NAP 1:30-2:30
BT 7:30

Do you see any indication of molars coming in? Discomfort can wake kids up between 4-6am.

I haven't seen any molars but they could be on the move I suppose.
Ok so basically the same routine we were on but with a later bedtime. We have had a lot of bedtime messing and often he hasn't dropped off til 7. 30 but it hasn't made a difference to wake up. I will be consistent with it for a few days and see what happens. Thanks!
