8 weeks boy - 32oz a day ok?
« on: July 21, 2017, 21:52:42 pm »
8 weeks, boy, 45 percentile, about 11pounds.
I give him a bottle of breastmilk most of time and formula once or twice a day.
My concern is that he seems to eat too much.
32oz total a day is okay for his weight?
I feed him every 4 hours(and cluster feeding before bed), 5oz per feeding.
If I give him 4oz per feeding he would cry and inconsolable after feeding.
But he doesn't spit up and I don't find any signs of reflux or heartburn.

It's fine - if he is taking that much and keeping the feed down ok then it's what he needs.

What you should find is that he will start draining the bottles which means you need to add another oz, when bottles get bigger they can go longer between bottles which means they take bigger bottles less often - the amount roughly stays the same but over less bottles.
