Can I add additional DF?

(1/2) > >>

lololove:
8 wks old hungry baby.
DF @ 11pm.
He wakes up @ 4am.

Can I add DF @ 3am or 4am before he wakes and cries hard?
It is hard to put him back to sleep after feeding at 4am.

Lolly:
Personally, I wouldn't because you will teach him to expect food at that time and the nightfeed won't shift or reduce naturally.

Going from an 11pm dreamfeed to a 4am feed at this age is really good! If he can do until 4am already then you may find the feed pushes closer tromping sooner rather than later. Does he has any wind or reflux issues that are making it hard to get back to sleep at 4am?

Thank you Laura,, it was very helpful advice.
No reflux... It just that he wants to play after the 4am feed. Then he goes back to sleep around 5:30am until the next feed. Is there a tip for him to want to go right back to sleep instead of playing after the 4am feed?

Lolly:
What's your daily routine like? Can you post it in EAS so we can see what's going on? It could be too much sleep, not enough sleep.

So if you can post

Eat - times and how much
Activity - how long for
Sleep - what times he goes to sleep and wakes.

for the day we'll take a look. :)

Dear Laura,

I discontinued DF because he wakes up frequently fast few days.
He is doing better without DF.
Pls see the below - pretty much very precise 4 hr easy with this schedule(during the day time, 40mins feeding, 1.5-2hr activity, and 1-1.5hr sleep).  However, feeding times change a bit depending on the 1st feed of the day: is this okay?
But should I try DF again?

4am to 5am(on demand) - 5oz: he wants to play a bit(30mins to 45mins) and sleep until the next feed
9am - 5oz
1pm - 5oz
5pm - 5oz
7:30pm - Shower
*8pm - 5oz
*12am - 5oz: goes back to sleep right away.
----* I keep the last 2 feeding times consistently.
