Interval between last nap and bedtime
« on: March 06, 2018, 06:22:02 am »
Hi all,

I was just wondering how long the interval should be from the minute my baby wakes up from his last catnap, to when he closes his eyes and falls asleep. Our bedtime routine is quick and simple (change diaper, pajamas, 10 minutes to breastfeed fully, and lay down in the crib with a pacifier. He's usually asleep within 3 minutes. He is 4 months old this week and is in the middle of his sleep regression (though I think he's on the tail end of the regression).

Anyway, also, how does the interval length change with age?

Thanks!

Hi :)

Average A time at 4 months is 2hr, and you can reduce that to 1:45 after a short nap, so 1:45-ish from the catnap to asleep in bed for the night is great.

Any particular reason you're asking?

Okay perfect, thank you.

I had been told it should be no longer than an hour, which I thought was quite short. So just wanted to check!

Well, that might work for some babies but most babies I know would fight like mad for quite some time if you tried to put them down for the night after 1hr!
