17 month old naps
« on: March 07, 2018, 11:34:33 am »
My 17 month old takes 1 nap a day of exactly 1 hour and sleeps 11-11.5 hours at night for the most part. He wakes up crying everyday and I just wonder why he won’t sleep longer. I feel like I have done every awake time before his nap. I started at around 4.5 hours and am now at 6.5 hours. I increased that every 15 min every few days and the naps didn’t change much. In the beginning he would sometimes wake up at 30-40 min like ot and we would go lay by his crib so he would go back to sleep. For another 30. After an hour of nap he doesn’t go back to sleep in we lay in there since he’s more rested. I have stopped pushing AT since I hit 6hr30min a few days ago.

Morning Awake time= average 6:00-6:30am (sometimes though 545)
AT 6.5
Nap 1 hour
AT 5-6 hours depending on morning awake time
Set bedtime of 7pm

Do I just accept this? Or do you have any insight? 1 hour just doesn’t seem long enough for a little guy.

At this age I just went to set naps in the middle of the day so 12-1.30/2 it can take a while for a nap to lengthen but some just don’t sleep as much as others.
