Starting EASY with 5,5 month old - 80 minutes long naps
« on: April 04, 2018, 09:34:38 am »
Hi! I hope I can get some tips here. We have just started this journey with our son and his first nap today was 80 minutes long so there were 35 minutes until the 2 hours saved for nap. Should I:
-feed him immediately or wait until the 2 hours time saved for a nap finishes?
-when should he have his next nap? 2 hours after waking up or exactly 2 hours after the saved nap time?

80 mins is a great nap!  You can't make him sleep 2h if he doesn't need it - one of mine loved a long nap but the other was almost always 75-90 mins at the longest.  I'd just get him up at that point and start another EAS cycle.  You can always delay the feed by a bit if he's not immediately cueing for it, but don't hold him off purely for the sake of a schedule as that's not how EASY is meant to work.  A time starts from when his eyes open so next nap 2h or thereabouts after waking, unless he is clearly ready for it sooner :)
