5 week old on 2,5-3 hr easy until 5 am
« on: April 10, 2018, 21:44:02 pm »
Hello, hoping someone can help. My newborn is 5 weeks today. During the day, she's on a solid epitome, feeding every 3 hours, sometimes 2,5. She sleeps well at night but our problem begins after the first night feed. At the moment our schedule for the evening is
730/8 pm bedtime and feed
10:30/11 pm dream feed
2:30/3 am night feed 1

She can solidly go for a 3-4 hour stretch. However, after the 230/3 am feed, sHes up at 5:30 and then struggles to settle for a 7 am wake up.

Any advice? Do i just deal with this given how young she is at this stage or try something to move us closer to a 7 am wake up? In other words, what can i did to move her to a 7 am wake up given the situation?

My first daughter did very well on bw routines so really keen to get this one on track!

Thanks for the support!

Are you feeding and putting her back to bed at 5:30? If not, I'd try that as its reasonable for her to be hungry 3hr after her last NF.

Alternately, you could try not doing the DF amd let her wake for her feeds which might then make that 5:30 waking a bit earlier and she might settle more easily.

How are things now? She's so young that things will change a lot and she won't necessarily have her days worked out yet. Babies this young especially won't always do an 11-12hr night.
