Taking a short nap ?
« on: May 03, 2018, 18:20:54 pm »
My 21 month old as been taking a short nap these days. I would say like 1 hr to 1 hr 15 mins. He always  took a 2 hr nap. Recently he’s started going down later around 1. Any ideas ?

I think they can start to reduce nap length as they get older. Mine did it gradually over some months until we stayed at around 45mins to 1 hour for a while. DD is 32 months now and has decided this week she is too big for naps now and has basically gone cold turkey to drop them 😳🤦‍♀️
I guess as long as their night sleep stays ok just go with it.

I agree with conniesmummy that some just naturally shorten their nap over time.

Another thing it could be is a language leap, there's one at 21 months.  My DS had really disturbed sleep through that. Then it all settled down again and he went right back to his previous routine.
