Nap not happening every day ?
« on: June 21, 2018, 11:01:03 am »
We’ve gotten through a month of messed up nap schedules due to my older son finishing school and needing to be picked up so school runs interfered with los nap. So now My almost 2 year old is napping randomly. This week he only napped if we spent the morning at the lake if we didn’t he wouldn’t fall asleep. He had been doing 130-3 on the days he does nap. He usually wakes around 630 sometimes earlier and when he naps late he doesn’t usually falll sleep until around 8. Is he trying to give up nap or is it just because his big brother is now home at nap time and he’s too nosey to nap. I wa hoping with this child that he wouldn’t give up naps so young like his older brother. What’s a typical routine like for a 2 year old ?

Day 2 of no nap! My day starts at 630 when little one gets up and there’s zero downtime with two kids until my oldest goes to bed around 830! What a long and exhausting day!

I can only sympathise with you I’m afraid. I miss nap time 😔
It’s a long long day without a break. Especially if you throw in cranky tired toddler syndrome!! Oh and we’ve had potty regression too 🤦‍♀️
Toddlers were sent to test us that’s for sure 😳
I’m waiting for the 12 hr nights 😂😂
We’ve been nap free for almost 2 months now and had a handful of 12 hr nights but mostly 11 ish so very early starts and shattered bedtime at 7!

It is tough right ?! 😊 just wondering what other los turning 2 schedules are. Is this typical before they drop the nap to not take one everyday?

Some do that, others gradually reduce their own nap, which is what my LG did then one day at Nursery she just said she wasn’t tired and didn’t want to sleep. She lay with the others but stayed awake. After that we discovered that even a 30 min nap midday made bedtime ridiculously late but 2 hours almost and still waking the same time next day, so robbing night sleep. This resulted in a few cranky days so we try our best to avoid naps now, unless she’s had a very early start. Then I’ve encouraged a car nap for 20 mins but late morning. This has only happened once so far and didn’t affect bt.
I think we’re all riding the storm with these littlies 😳🤦‍♀️❤️
I miss nap time, was my sanity reclaimer 😂

I miss naptime so much! Having two little ones home and no downtime is really tough and a very long day!

I only allow a 20 min max nap or she won’t go to bed!!!
