Hello and welcome to BW forums
Firstly, what schedule are you trying to keep to? Have you read one of the Baby Whisperer books? Which one? Or are you following another parenting book?
The Baby Whsiperer books by Tracy Hogg describe how to wind down and get LO ready for sleep and also how to go about sleep training to gently and respectfully teach your LO to sleep independently using shush/pat (we sometimes adapt the method if LO has got used to something else).
If you haven't read any of the BW books I would suggest reading one, it would really give you a good idea of the ethos and methods.
There is also lots of information on the site though, here's a link to Starting EASY:
https://babywhispererforums.com/index.php?topic=186622.0Beginning the BW way involves 3 days of observation, you watch when LO eats, sleeps and wakes and jot down all the times, from there you have some information about how long your LO likes to stay awake, and can put together a suitable routine based on individual needs (rather than strict based on a one-size-fits-all schedule).
hope this helps
