Trying shush pat - what now??
« on: July 21, 2018, 02:42:44 am »
Right

3 months old two days ago

Sleeps well at night. 8pm-7am usually gets 10 or 11 hours total sleep in that stint

Morning - awake, play, eats a bit, play, 2 hours total then I put her down drowsy do shush pat and she sleeps 30 minutes

- wakes happy so I let her wake, 2 hours awake, eats a bit towards end, back to sleep in cot with shush pat, 30 minutes

- wakes fussy and crying. Put her down several times and she fussed and cries so pick her up and calm her each time. 3 or 4 times later and she cries and doesn’t sleep when I put her in cot

What would you do next? Let her sleep in arms? Persist?

Thanks

Sounds like she's getting overtired from the long A times and short naps.

Can you try putting her down after closer to 1.5hrs awake time?

She doesn't have to go to sleep independently for all naps.  You could shush pat to sleep in your arms and then put her down if she'll let you. Or could she catch up in the sling or buggy?
