23mth old EW
« on: August 08, 2018, 04:26:53 am »
A month ago my 23mth old startstarted sleeping through the night while away. Now sleep has gone crazy. Before he was settling beautifully for all naps and bedtime, no tears, now he is crying lots and wanting me to stay! Ahhh!
While away the routine that worked was
Wake up6.30/7am
Nap 2-4pm
Bedtime 9pm

Crazy schedule but it worked. Now since being home, we have early waking 4-5am. He us tired and can be resettled only sometimes with a feed until 7.30am. Although, I've been putting him to bed at 8pm and he cries and cries. Too early?

I really don't know where to start. He missed his nap kast weekend and screamed from overtiredness and then fell asleep 6pm6pm-6am. Any ideas ?

I should also mention that the Ew was getting worse when napping 1-3pm. He started sleeping through when we moved his nap time (it was accidental from travelling) to 2pm-4pm - I would wake at 4.

Hi thre
Sorry you didn't get a reply yet.  Sometimes it looks like someone has answered if you reply to yourself.

Two things come to mind:
- birthday developmental leap.  Every birthday and half birthday sleep went off track for us and for many.  Mine usually started well before the actual birthday and lasted several weeks.  Lots of additional help needed and if mine was resistant at BT evne though I knew he needed the sleep I just moved BT later to reduce the amount of acll backs and fussing ro meeing around etc.  He was tired but I couldn't cope with a 1hr put down for bed, later BT helped.
- some drop the nap at 24 months, it's early but not unheard of.  If your LO was early to drop other naps then this could be the start of the 1-0 nap drop.
Capping the nap may help.

What do you think?
