Sleep training isn't about leaving your LO though so it's fine if he needs you more, just give more.  With the BW methods you do what is needed to support your LO and if that takes longer then it takes longer.  What are the options?  Sleep in arms and sleep train later? Or begin in arms with shush/pat then put down in the cot when ready and continue in the cot?  Either is fine.  Often sleep training is more about when Mum/Dad is ready rather than when LO is ready.  It depends very much how you feel.

I like that about BW.

I was thinking more about if its a bad idea or not since even those who are already trained tend to regress a bit too. So i wanted to know if theres a point in starting now during this leap. But i guess something us better than nothing.

Sometimes these big changes for our LOs can be a help towards changing routines or changing how we do things.
I've had several occasions when a new routine has come about during illness which wouldn't usually be the time to be changing routines but it's been a case of everything being off track anyway so it can't be any worse.  So long as we are attentive and give cuddles.
