Shorter nap times, how to link cycles
« on: August 20, 2018, 05:00:04 am »
My LO is nearly 6months old and she is on a 3hr EASY cycle.
We have recently increased her awake time from 1h45 to 2hrs.
When we did this, her naps decreased from 1h30 to 1hr and she became a lot more difficult to settle for her day naps.
She has no issues getting to sleep at night time and sleeps right through with no feeds or awakenings.
I was hoping to start extending her EASY cycle to 3.5hrs, but this is not going to happen with her naps shortening!

Hi there
I also replied to your other thread on the EASY board about routine and A times.
To answer this specifically though here is a link for W2S (wake to sleep) which can help:

see naps option 1, you would go in just before the usual waking time rather than at 30 mins when the FAQ says - adapt for your LO.

Some times when A times are increased you can see a couple of naps go short or the routine go off track but they tend to settle down after a few days. It could be that your LO's need for an A increase just coincided with your increasing but that the increase was not enough.  2hrs is the guidance time for a 4 month old with 3hrs at 6 months.
hope this helps
