Hello. I am having a lot of sleep problems with my 11 week old baby boy. Currently, I am doing the EASY routine and he eats about every 3 hours. His day begins around 6:45 (typically). He is usually tired around 7:30. The rest of the day his awake time is about 1hour 15 minutes. His sleepy cues are hard to read and I think I miss them. A grunting noise and then yawning. In general, he fights all naps. When I finally get him to sleep, each nap is ONLY 45 minutes. I have heard this is normal. However, I cannot figure out a good schedule for him if this is going to be the case. I have tried rearranging his awake time, but don’t know if I’m doing it right. #firstchild. Since it takes a while for him to go to sleep (doesn’t self sooth or settle), I end up putting him in the carrier or wrap for most naps because he sleeps long and well in there. Should I keep giving him naps in the crib even if they are 45 minute? If so, how do I schedule the rest of the day?
Nighttime - he is doing his last feeding around 8:30/8:45. Asleep by 9:00. I tried moving up his bedtime last week to 7:30 and it was a catastrophe - up every hour. Now with going to bed at 9:00, he generally can make it to 4 and then he has a tough time going back to sleep after nursing then. He finally will sleep until around 6:30-6:45.
So two MAIN questions for a tired mom - should I keep doing crib short naps and if so, how do I schedule the rest of the day considering he eats every 3 hours?
