Struggle to connect sleep cycles
« on: September 19, 2018, 14:08:00 pm »
Hi,

My nearly 15 week old is generally a good sleeper/happy baby and fell into a routine very quickly. His routine is as follows:

7:00 - feed
8:30-9:30 - 45min-1hr nap
10:00 - feed
11:30-1:00 - 45min-1hr nap
1:00 - feed
2:30-4:30 - nap
4:30 - feed
6:30 - bed

If we are out in the morning he tends to have cat naps rather as not good on sleeping on the go. My problem is the afternoon nap, he clearly needs a nice long one but he struggles to get past the 1st sleep cycle. Once he does he can do another hour and half to 2 hours. I’ve got white noise, which I put on just before he’s due to wake and sometimes (rarely) he will manage to settle himself back off but generally I need to be there putting the dummy back in (doesn’t ever stay in) where he’ll fall asleep for a few mins then wake screaming again. He goes to sleep awake but drowsy, in a love to dream swaddle sometimes with a dummy sometimes without, doesn’t seem to make a didference to how he resettles. I’ve adjusted routines, made sure not feeding to sleep etc. Not sure what else to do?! Help!!! Thank you in advance, Kat.

Hi sorry you’ve not had a reply, how are things now?
Generally 45 min naps are UT.
