Help! 6 week old won’t nap at all
« on: October 23, 2019, 00:07:41 am »
Hi BW ! Any help would be great.

I have a 6 week (almost 7) old DS who is a touchy baby, and won’t nap at all. My first baby wad on EASY and was able to sleep independently at 6 weeks, so we wanted to do EASY on DS2 since day 1. But he just won’t get on a routine or sleep! He wakes up every 3 mins or 6 mins or 10 mins and only naps AT MOST 20 mins. He can’t seem to transition sleep well and I feel like I’ve tried everything.

I put him down Drowsy and he will fall asleep. But no matter if I have my hand on him, or patting, or covering the light, he will jolt out of sleep and can’t resettle. My whole day feels like I’m shh-patting him. I’ve tried adjusting activity time so he’s not overstimulated, but he then is just staring around wide-eyed after he sleeps for 3 mins. He seems to only sleep if he is held. Sigh. How can I help him sleep?

And in an effort to get ANY sleep in, I either give him a pacifier or just hold him. And now I have props. Also, no matter what I do, I think he sleeps when feeding and that 20 min nap keeps him from sleeping after. It seems like I cant get on top of sleep no matter what I do.
