From 2 naps back to 3
« on: August 22, 2005, 11:54:00 am »
My ds recently seemed to switch to needing just 2 naps a day.  He would sleep from about 9.30 - 11 and then from about 2-3.30  This past week though he seems to be reverting back to needing 3 naps a day. Consequently he is waking up earlier in the morning which is not good! :)

I guess I'm just wanting to know if this is normal?  Should I just go back to 3 naps if that's what he seems to want?

your lo is about the same age as my ds.  luke usually has 2 naps a day, but there are still days when he just seems to need 3.  usually when the afternoon nap is no good.

i would just go with it.  the days should get better & better.  i know they sloooooly are for me.

Yep - Mads did something similar at that age and she started having a little powernap in the late afternoon to keep her going until we could get her back on track to 2 naps. I must admit, I only used to let her have about 30 mins though and would then go in and wake her to preserve her nights sleep!
