7mth solids n wakings??
« on: July 27, 2005, 08:47:07 am »
hello, my lil 7th mth has started solids since then she has been waking up a few times at night.  sometimes is due to gas and sometimes is unknown.  after putting her down to sleep.. she wakes up an hour later (not the same time everynight though) cries and i have to pat her or sometimes hold her to sleep. question is why does she wakes up right after she has been put to sleep? also she wakes up quite constant eg.5 times within 2 hours sometimes less.  I have to pat her back to sleep everytime.  she also wakes up at around 4am... not exact time each wakings.  i have been on a same routine every night since birth.  can someone please help! many sleepless nights... many thanks

We had the same problem! I found certain foods were more likely to cause discomfort especially cauliflower and broccoli. If you aren't already, write down the foods from the day and observe if reactions change. After about 9 months everything seemed to settle down.

hi there,

I have similar problems with my 7 month old angel.  This is what I check each time (you probably do this anyway) is she too hot or too cold?  Hungry or thirsty windy or just being annoying and wanting a cuddle in the middle of the night like mine.  I put my angel in a sleeping bag this way she doesnt fiddle about as much and cant bang her legs as much or roll over and get stuck.  Using a sleeping bag will depend on the temperature tho.  I hope things get easier for you, I fully understand how hard it is to get them out of this waking up at night though if anyone has any ideas for me they will be greatly appreciated (my 7 month old has severe reflux but this is under control at the moment). X

before one ends another comes along.. now she is sitting up and playing in the middle of the night.  and she can sit up by herself but can't seem to go back down.  when she sees me she will want me to hold her. she also seem to be really difficult to be put to sleep these days and wakes up the same time.  i hope is just a phase we have to go through.  me and dh has move to the other room ;)

oh dear, at sitting up at night.  I know how annoying this is because although my LO cant sit up unsupported yet she can roll over onto her belly and try to crawl which is annoying at night in her cot because she gets stuck and needs turing over.  Only for her to do it again, and again and again!  Nightmare isnt it, and yes she finds it very funny when I turn her back over and decides its play time then and wants to make a game of it.

My lovely 7 month old has started waking during the night (screaming out) for approx the last 4 weeks   & tonight I suddenly thought maybe it was to do with her starting solids at 6 months (after going through all the other things it could have been, teething etc). I'm hoping it's just her body getting use to having "food" in it and that it will all end soon..... She was sleeping through the night since she was 4 weeks old (12 hours) which was awesome, now i'm walking round like a zombie
Ah well it's all fun & games being a parent   I'm sure if it's not one thing it will be something else. At least I know i'm not alone  :)
Fingers crossed it all ends soon, good luck to everyone else too.
