Sleeping on floor a problem?
« on: July 27, 2005, 13:44:19 pm »
I had another post about standing in the room with our 19 month old daughter...
We are now able to put her in the room and she might fuss for a couple of minutes, but goes to sleep...
Only problem is that sometimes... it's on the floor and not the bed.
Believe she gets out... then is too tired and just lays on the floor.
We will go in when she is asleep and put her in bed... but is this a problem?

I figured she will eventually just stop getting out of bed... and she has gotten out and then got back in for the night..  but just wanted thoughts from someone...
Thanks

Sleeping on floor a problem?

Hey Mark,
I say it's totally OK.  John sometimes comes out in the middle of the night and sleeps on the living room chair.  I have a friend whose little boy comes out and sleeps in the hallway outside their room.  For me, as long as they are sleeping (and not in my bed/room  )..then it works for me.  :D

Congrats on your new one to come  :D

Kiandra often falls asleep on the floor.  I usually go in and put her on her bed after she's asleep, but sometimes will go in 10 minutes later and she'll be on the floor again.  And it's not like she's falling out of bed.  I figure if she can sleep like that, I don't care much.  She is starting to fall asleep on her bed a little bit more often, but I don't sweat it.

Sleeping on floor a problem?

jaina does this a bunch for naptime.  sometimes when i put her down she's not tired so she'll get out & play quietly, and then she just crashes on the floor.  she doesn't seem to mind so i never worry about it.

every once in a while she wakes up kinda confused & cries so i just put her back in bed & she's fine.

I think what you are doing is fine as long as it works for you.  I would do the same with my ds if he fell asleep on the floor I would just put him back in.

Update on sleeping on the floor...
« Reply #5 on: August 03, 2005, 14:35:44 pm »
Since we started just putting her in bed... kissing her and leaving... she has done great!
Slept on the floor a couple of nights... and I would check on her about an hour later and put her back in.

We are now on 5 nights in a row of sleeping in the bed... not even getting out as best we can tell! SWEET!

Now to finalize the potty training and we're good to go...
Oh... until the next one gets that age... ;)
Thanks for all the advice...
