waking at dreamfeed
« on: August 05, 2005, 04:37:16 am »
The last few nights, my ds has starting waking during the dreamfeed.  It used to work like a charm, he'd sleep right through it, but now 3 nights in a row, he wakes up and even wimpers a little bit during the dreamfeed.  Anyone else have this problem?  Ways to prevent it?  I do the dreamfeed with a bottle between 10 and 11 at night, depending on when he gets to bed (generally around 8 or 8:30).

Thanks,
Erin

hi - no tips on preventing it, just to say it happens to us semi-regularly.  unless it is causing problems where your lo won't go back to sleep then there is no "problem" with being awake during DF.

if your lo IS having trouble re-settling after an awake "dream" feed, try to make sure you avoid eye contact (stimulating) and keep the room dim - dark, no nappy change still unless nappy is leaking or full of poop.

at 5 1/2 months it still happens to us occassionally, but she usually falls asleep during the feed much of those nights anyway  :D
