How and when to stop SWADDLING???
« on: August 03, 2005, 18:10:54 pm »
Hi everyone:

My lo is six months old.  He doesnt like his swaddle very much but he is spirited and we've needed it.  Now I think it may be time to stop swaddling but everytime I've tried it he doesnt sleep well.  I've tried swaddling loosely, I've tried leaving one arm out, but he just flails his arms and takes out his paci and then cant get to sleep.

Is it time to stop swaddling?  If so, whats the best way to do it.

Please Help!

Some older babies find comfort in the swaddling.  If you think it's interfering and he wants a change, I would loosen the swaddle.  I think the one arm out is a little too much too soon, so loosening it would be more gradual.
