How do I get an 8 week old to go to sleep on hia own?
« on: August 08, 2005, 16:04:43 pm »
I have been working on getting Caeden onto a good 3 hour EASY routine. It has been going okay but I still cannot get him to go to sleep without being held. I have sometimes but him into his cradle mostly asleep and he has opened his eyes and started fussing and I have been able to give him his paci and either pat him or just put my hand on him and he will go to sleep, but anymore awake then that and he just SCREAMS.
Any ideas on trying to transition here or is this normal? I feel like I am not moving forward by continuing to get him to sleep completly in my arms - though I usually love doing it! :D  I want him to be able to go to sleep on his own - and this should help with the going back to sleep when he wakes after 45 minutes too, right?
Thanks
Jen
