My 11 week old DD doesn't seem to be interested in her milk!
« on: August 08, 2005, 18:47:36 pm »
Hi there guys,

I have a problem with my DD not being interested in eating. The past couple of weeks she keeps turning her head from side to side, getting her hands in the way and looks around the room. everything seems to distract her- even if I look at her!!

She has be on 3hr EASY since she was about 6weeks old (i think! :? ) so when i first noticed this i changed her to 4hr. But this has made no difference.

Since this has started she has started to wake up in the night around 2.30ish for a feed. whereas before she was sleeping til 5.30 - 6am. (maybe our luck ran out!)

I took her to be weighed last week and she was 10lb 8.5oz so only put on 2 ounces in two weeks.

Can anyone please help???

Hi Rebecca, my LO is a little older than yours but we have had the same problem for awhile now.
What we do is actually feed her while she is sitting in her "bouncy" chair. She seems to be want to look around so I will put a toy in the chair with her and hold her bottle while she can play a little with her toy.
Also, we have tried swaddling her to eat and she does fuss a bit at first but then settles down to eat.
Just some suggestions, hope they help!

Zoe was/is like this too.  We have to eliminate all distractions unless she's famished...then she sucks it down no matter what's going on  .  You may also want to try a faster flow nipple if you haven't already  :D

This was happening to our dd too and we went to a faster flow nipple and it really helped.

I would also suggest a faster flow teat.
