Feeding 6month boy on easy plan
« on: August 15, 2005, 17:31:02 pm »
  Can anybody help

Currently my son is on Easy plan 6mth old. Dream feed at 9.30
Weighs 21lb
Has 5 feeds a day with 3 solids  basics fruits and yoghurts/ wheat free

his morning feed is proving to be a nightmare. Generally wakes at 6.30-7am doesnt want anything until 8am then doesnt want bottle till 9/9.30 only takes 2-3oz

Do you think its just he's waking up early and not got his appetite yet?

Grateful for any comments

Claire

Hi, Claire,

When he first gets up at 6 or 7am, do you try to give him the bottle first thing?  My lo usually wakes really hungry and will drain both sides usually, and then an hour later I give her solids.  Are you giving solids at 8am and then milk at 9am?  See if you give him his milk first helps, and then wait about an hour and give him his solids.  If he doesn't eat a lot of solids, it's ok, as long as he is drinking his milk as that is more important.

Hope that helps,

Kathy

I agree with pp. I started giving my lo her milk first thing when she wakes up and then solids about 1 to 1 1/2 hours later.  She seems to eat her breakfast more readily now instead of just eating a couple of teaspoons.[/quote]
