Waking up SCREAMING! Overstimulation?
« on: August 16, 2005, 02:00:15 am »
Hi my so is 6.5 months old. For the last 2 weeks he has gone to sleep  at nite no problem but 4-5 times during the last 2 weeks he has woken up after  1-2 hours crying, then really crying loud! I go in and comfort him until he goes back to sleep ( this could take a while or just 10 min.). I also brought him downstairs once and put him back to sleep when he got tired again. Is anyone experiencing this as well. He just cries so loud like he's in looots of pain but I know he is not cause as soon as I pick him up he's ok and smiles. So another thing I noticed is that this tends to happen when we have a lot of people around. It's just my husband and me with him for 90% of the time but we have been getting together with family and there are a lot of people in the house talking to him and holding him. Could it be that he's acting this way every time we have a big crowd over or is it just coincidence or could it be something else?

I believe he is a textbook baby, is this something textbook babies do? What are textbook babies supposed to be like?

We, too, have a daughter who is waking up at the 45 min. mark not crying in a fussy way but screaming as if in sheer agony.  We do not know the cause; we are looking into possible allergy issues.  We also are struggling with the top teeth (dd is seven and a half months) which is likely exasperating the problem.  Tonight was really tough; she did not go down until 10:25 and then was up screaming from 11:40-12:45.  I have to head to bed (morning will be here much too soon), but if anyone has ideas they would be very appreciated.
