Finally ... I'm so excited!
« on: August 17, 2005, 14:37:09 pm »
We've been feeding ds rice cereal for about a month now, and he would never open his mouth to eat!  It was always coaxing, or getting him to smile or laugh, etc.

Well, yesterday and this morning, open mouth!  Every time the spoon came close!  Yeah!   :D  :D  :D

Isn't it so silly the things that we think are so great!?!

BTW, for the others that read my cereal & constipation thread, the cereal combined with water, instead of formula, seems to have helped move things along!     Thanks!

Yeah Ethan!  I remember how exciting that was cause it seemed to take Emma forever to get it.  Go Ethan, go!   :D   Can't wait to see him!  WE're currently tackling potty training and big girl bed at the same time!  We started pting a few days ago and it's going really well and then yesterday she climbed out of her bed so she slept like a big girl last night and did well (not holding my breath that there won't be any hiccups there for nap or tonight though.)  Now eating can be fun for both Ethan and mom!   :D

Isn't it such a relief when they finally "get it?" Yay for Ethan!

Glad to hear things are moving along again too!

that is such great news.  we have only been trying for a week or so but she will not open her mouth and already had battles over the bottle so we are not "allowed" to push her on this.  we are offering it every day and touch it to her mouth, etc and she gets annoyed.  with excessive mouthing on our part (and even 1 tasting of rice cereal YUCK) she will start to lick her lips a bit but if i get a spoon in it gets pushed out.

if you could take a month i will be more patient!  thanks for sharing!

My ds took about a month also to get the hang of using a spoon.  I think it does take them a while.  But now he has the skill mastered perfectly!!!  In fact sometimes now he seems 'confused' by the bottle!  So many new skills for then to learn - it's amazing how they cope I think.
