I know babies shouldn't eat honey but what about products that are processed/made with honey. Are these off limits too? I bought a honey jalapeno flavored rotisserie chicken. I got a plain rotisserie chicken to give him. Another example I came across lately was honey roasted turkey deli meat.

Chris is 11 1/2 months.

The issue is with raw honey.  It can contain botulism.  I think products with honey baked or cooked are ok.  With something like the chicken you could just remove the skin and it would probably be fine.

Thanks. I thought it was only raw honey but I wanted to make sure especially since manufacturers are adding honey to everything. I just walked down the cereal aisle and every other cereal had honey added.

But you have to be careful with the cereals, some of them are coated or glazed with honey and it may not be ok for a baby.

You are right, it is only off limits for the first year.
HOWEVER we always go a little longer than that just for good measure!
check with the DR, it could have something to do with weight, kinda like medicine does the bigger the person the more they get....just a thought.
