How to get my daughter used to her cot
« on: August 19, 2005, 11:36:34 am »
I have a 9 week old daughter and she has just about to outgrow her moses basket.  How can I get her used to being in a cot in her room.  (The moses basket is beside my bed, but I can't fit her cot in my room)

I just  wondered if anyone has any suggestions   :?

Hi

This is not too tricky actually.  What you do is let her play in her crib in her room during the day for as long as she is happy whilst you do other things in there.  What you must do is whip her out before she gets upset.  What you are trying to do is make good associations with that room and that bed.  Do that for a week or so.

Then, you put her to bed in her moses basket, in her crib if you see what I mean.  You do that for a couple of weeks (or until her head hits the top of the basekt which is what happened to us!).  Then you take the basket out of the equation.  She's used to the room and that view of the world.

thanks very much for the info.  I will try that beginning sunday, as we are out all day tomorrow.

Thanks again
