One of my 5 month old twins has started chewing his tongue..always to the one side.  I've never heard of this... is this normal?

My 4.5mo son started doing this.  I think it might be a developmental thing, they have just discovered that they have one! He has now moved onto pursing his lips together and blowing making a rasberry sound

I hope this eases your mind.

dd2 does endless things with her tongue - i definitely think it is an awareness thing.  now that we started solids and have been encouraging her to eat and swallow, etc she has started sucking her tongue and playing with it. she is still doing lots of raspberries and sticking her tongue out.  they know how to make anything a toy!

Yes normal, dd discovered her tongue a long time ago then forgot about it. For the last few days she has it permenantly stuck out, she now thinks its a game cos I always tell her to put it back in

With regards to your post,  my little boy has just started eating his tongue but so i thought,  he cut a tooth and has been feeling around for that over the last couple of days,  must feel very strange!
