just wanted to post some encouragement to others who have babies who do not seem interested in eating solids even at 6 months.
not sure if this is a fluke or the real deal, but we had a breakthrough tonight. after a few days opf starting solids with no interest in opening her mouth... we hit the 6 mo growth spurt which was great for solids because she was so hungry she was devouring anything we offered. then the GS ended and we were back to mouth shut firmly.
my Dh was giving up tonight when i tried again and noticed she had slipped down in her seat a bit and when i propped her up she was leaning right forward and suddenly the next spoon i offered she happily took.
we put a pillow behind her to keep her really upright and forward and she happily ate more food until she got full and that was the reason for stopping. fingers crossed tomorrow goes well too but thought i woudl mention that you could try a different position (more/less upright) and see if that helps!
