Anyone had success with avocado's with their LO?
How do I use it, because avo's usually go black once in use?
How long can I keep an avo?
Thanks

I know it is not recommended but I froze avocado cubes to use up any excess that I wasn't planning on using the same day. It is not a pretty colour when defrosted but it tastes fine.

Avocado's are one of the only things she'll eat right now! I cut one in half, feed her one half one day and the other half the next day. For the second half, I sometimes trim off the brown/black bits. She eats it in chunks.

Hello!
Just a thought, if you squeeze some lemon juice on the avo, it should stop it going brown.

I tried that and it didn't seem to help that much. :? But I also tried wrapping the other half in plastic wrap and putting it upside down in the fridge, and it was better.

to store the unused avo keep the pit in with it. i put the 2 halves back together with the pit inside (even if one side is almost empty). the pit keeps it ok for a bit longer.
to serve avo - just mash it up - it also goes well with banana so can be mashed together.
for older ones it makes a great and easy foirst "sandwich"

Have you tried keeping the pit with the leftover avocado? That helps the browning. I throw the leftover in the fridge and use it for at least the next few days (usually longer :? ).

I freeze avocado too. I mash it then put it in those cube trays with lids. Like it's been said, the top goes brown but it doesn't affect taste and dd loves them!
